Peshtemal is a traditional Turkish towel that was often given as a wedding gift and used in Hamam’s. This simplistic lightweight(great for travelling) all rounder has led to an explosion in popularity with its diverse use indoors and outdoors, used as table linen, bath/beach towels, scalve, throws, wraps or even as a knotted bag. What’s not to love about a Peshtemal.
Vintage inspired the Bergama is a simple flat woven cotton Peshtemal. Hand loomed in cream with black stripes. It is hand finished with a knotted fringe. By Luks Linen.
For those that like utilitarian textiles, or if space is a premium then this Peshtemal is both functional and versatile. Whilst the Bergama is lightweight, absorbent and quick drying and looks great draped or rolled in baskets.
